We read every message with care and respond as the land allows — slowly, intentionally, and always with love.

Please share a little about your intention or what you feel drawn to, so we can guide you with clarity and care.

Prepare for Your Journey
Before stepping onto the sacred land of Finca de la Sol, we invite you to begin your journey with awareness and reverence.
Preparation is part of the ceremony — a way to align your heart, body, and spirit with the energy of the Earth.
In this space, you’ll find guidance on what to bring, how to prepare through the dieta, and the intentions that help you arrive in harmony with the medicines and the land.
The more you prepare, the deeper the journey unfolds. Enter this guide with patience and curiosity — it is your first step into remembrance.
Visiting the Land
Finca de la Sol rests in the mountains of Tierras Morenas, Savegre, Costa Rica — a sacred refuge surrounded by lush jungle, flowing rivers, and the vibrant song of life itself.
Perched high in the hills near Tinamastes, Platanillo, Lagunas and Dominical, this land offers sweeping mountain views, fresh air, and deep immersion in nature’s rhythms.
Here, time moves with the pulse of the Earth. We live fully off-grid, guided by the sun, the rain, and the cycles of the moon. Electricity is minimal, the nights glow with firelight and stars, and the jungle becomes both teacher and healer.
When you arrive, you are not simply reaching a destination — you are stepping into a living prayer.
A space of remembrance where the modern world softens and the ancient ways return.
The land itself is part of the ceremony: The trees ground, the birds sing blessings into each day, and the mountains hold everything in quiet protection.
Finca de la Sol is not a resort or retreat center — it is an ancestral sanctuary where life is lived in humility, presence, and reverence for Mother Earth.

We are happy to assist with coordinating any of these options.

The fastest and most comfortable way to arrive is by taking a short domestic flight from San José to Quepos.
• Flight time: approximately 45 minutes
• Cost: $100 - $120 per passenger

Gathering Point Before the Mountain
All guests meet first at our shop in Tinamastes, where we welcome everyone and prepare for the final journey to the finca.
From there, we provide transportation up the mountain unless you prefer to follow in your own 4x4 vehicle.
A Sacred Arrival
The final portion of the journey winds through lush valleys, river crossings, and mountain paths. It is a beautiful transition into nature — one that invites presence and grounding.
Details about the mountain drive, recommended vehicles, and safety tips can be found in the What to Expect on the Journey section below.
What to Expect
The journey to Finca de la Sol is part of the experience — an initiation into slowing down, breathing deeper, and letting nature guide your steps.
From Dominical, it is about one hour of travel, entering through Peaks Road and passing Lagunas.
From Tinamastes, the drive takes around 45 minutes, entering through Platanillo and passing San Juan de Dios.
A 4x4 vehicle is required, and cars should not be too low to the ground, as there is a gentle river crossing before arriving at the finca.
During the rainy season, we recommend arriving earlier in the day, as the afternoons often bring cleansing rain.
Driving at night is not advised — not for safety concerns, but to allow you to truly see and feel the beauty of the mountain road.
The roads are safe and well-traveled by locals — like most mountain paths, they are dirt roads, unpaved yet full of life and wonder.
⚠️ Important: Please do not take the route through Hatillo or the Carretera de la Muerte (Death Road).
These roads are extremely steep, narrow, and unsafe for most vehicles.
Always use the Lagunas–Peaks Road or Platanillo–San Juan de Dios routes to reach Finca de la Sol safely.
When You Arrive
Upon arrival, you’ll be welcomed with open hearts and guided through the rhythm of the space — where to rest, where to collect water, and how to move in harmony with the land.
Every visit is different, yet each begins the same way — with gratitude, silence, and the awareness that you are stepping into something sacred.
Come as you are, and let the Earth do the rest.
Guidance for the Journey
We understand that stepping into this path may bring curiosity and questions.
Below you’ll find answers shared from the heart — simple guidance to help you feel at ease before arriving at Finca de la Sol.
Common Questions
If your heart carries a question not found here, simply reach out to us — we will be happy to guide you.
-
Yes. Finca de la Sol is guided by ancestral permission and lineage from elders of the Amazon in Putumayo, Colombia, and our practices follow the authentic ceremonial ways of these traditions.
Our gatherings are intentionally kept small and intimate — typically 10 to 15 guests, never more than 20 participants — ensuring each person is fully supported, seen, and cared for throughout their journey.
Safety, preparation, and integration are at the heart of everything we do. Before each ceremony, we hold group wisdom talks where we share:
• the meaning and purpose of the medicine
• the Amazonian plant medicines we work with
• traditional protocols and ceremonial flow
• what participants may experience physically, emotionally, and spiritually
• tools for navigating challenging moments with trust and grounding
After ceremonies, we provide individual integration sessions to help each person understand their experience, find clarity, and bring what they’ve learned into daily life.
Our intention is not only to hold powerful ceremonies, but to ensure every participant feels prepared, supported, complete, and empowered long after leaving the land.
Finca de la Sol is not a commercial retreat center — it is a living ancestral sanctuary rooted in prayer, humility, and respect for traditional Amazonian wisdom.
-
Finca de la Sol is guided and held by Amaru and Nayara Sol, who have devoted their lives to walking the path of ancestral wisdom and Amazonian tradition.
Our ceremonial foundation comes from the teachings and permission of elders from the Cofán lineage of Putumayo, Colombia, and our practices follow the authentic ceremonial ways of the Amazon as they were entrusted to us.
We do not claim ownership of these traditions. We serve them with humility and reverence.
Over the years, we have lived in close relationship with the medicines, the elders, and the land — learning not only how to facilitate ceremony, but how to embody its teachings in daily life. Our work is rooted in:
• ancestral permission
• disciplined preparation
• prayer and service
• integration and community responsibility
Every gathering is held in alignment with the original instructions: respect the medicine, honor the lineage, protect the participants, and give back to the Earth.
Finca de la Sol is not a commercial training ground — it is a living sanctuary built through devotion, lived practice, and trust earned over time.
-
Our journey with ceremony began many years before Finca de la Sol was born.
We have been walking this path through study, apprenticeship, devotion, and lived experience — learning directly from elders of the Amazon in Putumayo, Colombia, and through years of personal practice and service.
Ceremony for us is not an event we host; it is a way of life we embody.
Over time, what began as personal healing deepened into service. With the blessing and permission of our teachers, we began holding space for others — always in humility, always in continued learning, and always in respect for tradition.
Finca de la Sol itself was established as a ceremonial sanctuary after years of preparation, prayer, and trust in the land. Since then, we have been consistently guiding small, intentional gatherings rooted in ancestral ways.
Our work continues to evolve — not through expansion, but through refinement, responsibility, and devotion.
-
Finca de la Sol is not a retreat center — it is a living ancestral sanctuary.
We do not operate as a resort, nor do we host large-scale programs. Our gatherings are intentionally small, usually 10–15 guests, allowing each person to be fully seen, supported, and guided with care.
This land was not developed for tourism. It was built slowly, through prayer, sacrifice, and devotion. Every structure — the maloca, the gardens, the trees we have planted — has grown organically from ceremony itself.
Our approach is rooted in:
• ancestral permission and lineage
• preparation and integration
• simplicity and humility
• deep relationship with the land
We emphasize education before ceremony, personal integration afterward, and practical tools to bring your experience into everyday life. Transformation here is not designed to be dramatic — it is meant to be embodied and sustainable.
Because we live on the land and continue our own disciplined practice, ceremony is not something we “offer” — it is something we live.
Finca de la Sol exists for those who seek authenticity over luxury, depth over spectacle, and sacred responsibility over spiritual tourism.
-
No. Finca de la Sol is not affiliated with any organized religion.
Our gatherings are rooted in ancestral Amazonian traditions that honor the Creator, the ancestors, and the sacred intelligence within nature. This spiritual understanding is based on reverence and relationship — not doctrine or belief systems.
Participants are never asked to adopt any faith or abandon their own. People of all backgrounds are welcome.
Ceremony here is not about religion or conversion. It is about remembrance, humility, and reconnecting with the sacredness of life.
-
No experience is needed.
Many who come to Finca de la Sol are taking their first steps on this sacred path.
Our gatherings in Costa Rica are held in a supportive, prayer-centered environment where all are welcome — beginners and experienced participants alike. We simply ask that you arrive with openness, respect, and readiness to listen to the wisdom of the land and ancestral traditions.
-
Yes — both are welcome.
Many guests arrive alone and quickly feel held as family. Others come with loved ones to walk the path together.
Whether in solitude or community, each journey is honored.
-
Yes — we warmly welcome guests from around the world.
Finca de la Sol is located in Costa Rica, and many participants travel internationally to join our gatherings and immersions. We are experienced in guiding guests through travel planning, airport arrival, and transportation to the land.
Our gatherings are bilingual. Amaru speaks primarily in Spanish during ceremonies, as this is the language through which he most naturally channels and transmits the teachings. Nayara translates into English, and both of us speak English fluently outside of ceremony.
This allows the integrity of the transmission to remain intact while ensuring all participants feel informed, supported, and included.
We are happy to assist with travel recommendations from San José (SJO), domestic flights, and transportation coordination.
Wherever you are coming from, you will be received with respect and care.
-
Yes — our gatherings are bilingual, welcoming both Spanish- and English-speaking participants.
When Amaru is in ceremony and connected in transmission, he speaks in Spanish. This is the language through which the teachings and guidance flow most naturally and clearly. Nayara translates into English in real time, ensuring full understanding for all participants.
Outside of ceremony, both facilitators speak fluent English and Spanish. Preparation talks, integration conversations, and practical guidance are accessible in both languages.
This bilingual flow honors the authenticity of the Amazonian tradition while ensuring that everyone — whether local or international — feels included, informed, and supported.
-
Yes. Finca de la Sol welcomes families, couples, and individuals.
Our land in Costa Rica offers a safe and nurturing environment where children can connect with nature while gatherings are held with mindfulness and respect for all ages.
-
At Finca de la Sol, we offer ancestral ceremonial gatherings, immersive retreats, and spirit-led healing services in Costa Rica, including:

Each offering is held in prayer, respect for Amazonian traditions, and deep connection with the land.

-
Preparation begins long before the night of ceremony.
After registration, participants receive guidance on the dieta, health considerations, and practical preparation. We encourage intentional reflection, emotional awareness, and slowing down before arrival.
Once on the land, we hold dedicated preparation talks prior to each ceremony. During these gatherings, we share:
• the origin and purpose of the medicine
• the ancestral traditions from Putumayo, Colombia
• ceremonial protocols and respectful conduct
• what participants may experience physically, emotionally, and spiritually
• grounding tools for navigating intense moments
• how to work with intention rather than resistance
We explain the role of prayer, silence, music, and community within the maloca so that everyone enters with clarity and understanding.
Preparation is not only informational — it is energetic. It helps participants feel safe, oriented, and empowered to surrender to the process with trust.
Our intention is that no one enters ceremony confused or unprepared. Each person steps into the space knowing what is happening, why it is happening, and how to navigate their experience with awareness.
-
Yes. Integration is an essential part of our work.
After each ceremony, we hold dedicated integration circles where participants are invited to share their experience, ask questions, and receive guidance. We help each person understand what unfolded — physically, emotionally, and spiritually — so that nothing feels confusing or unfinished.
Our intention is that no one leaves feeling fragmented or unclear. We take time to ensure every participant feels whole, grounded, and able to articulate what happened during their journey.
Beyond reflection, we focus on application.
The ancestral medicines originate from cultures that live immersed in the jungle — in simplicity, nature, and community. We recognize that many of our guests return to modern Western environments filled with work, responsibility, family dynamics, and social pressures.
Because of this, we intentionally bridge both worlds.
We provide practical tools to help integrate the teachings of the medicine into daily life — tools for emotional regulation, communication, boundaries, spiritual practice, and grounded living. Transformation is not meant to stay in the maloca; it is meant to be embodied in relationships, work, and personal responsibility.
Integration continues throughout the gathering, not just the morning after ceremony. We remain available for questions, clarification, and guidance until we feel each participant is stable, clear, and prepared to return home.
We do not measure success by intensity of experience — but by clarity, embodiment, and sustainable change.
-
Feeling intensity during ceremony is not uncommon. The medicines can bring forward emotions, memories, insights, or physical sensations that may feel strong or unfamiliar.
Before ceremony, we teach grounding tools and explain what may arise so that participants feel oriented rather than surprised.
If someone feels overwhelmed during the ceremony, they are never left alone. We remain attentive and present throughout the entire night. Support may include:
• gentle verbal guidance
• grounding reminders
• breath and body awareness
• energetic reassurance
• physical presence when appropriate
Because our gatherings are small, we are able to respond personally and immediately when someone needs support.
Often, what feels overwhelming at first becomes the doorway to release, clarity, or healing when met with trust and steady guidance. Our role is not to control the experience, but to help participants navigate it safely and consciously.
After ceremony, integration allows space to unpack what occurred, ensuring that intensity transforms into understanding rather than confusion.
No one is expected to “handle it alone.” The circle holds you, and we hold the circle.
-
No. Our gatherings are not clinical treatment, medical therapy, or a substitute for professional mental health care.
Finca de la Sol offers spiritual and ancestral ceremonial work rooted in Amazonian tradition. While many participants experience emotional insight, release, and personal transformation, this work is not presented as medical or psychological treatment.
We do not diagnose conditions, prescribe medication, or provide clinical therapy.
That said, ceremony can be deeply introspective and transformative. We provide preparation guidance, integration support, and tools for daily life — but participants are encouraged to continue working with licensed healthcare or mental health professionals when appropriate.
Our role is to hold a safe ceremonial container grounded in tradition, education, and integration — not to replace medical or psychological care.
We honor the medicine as sacred. We honor modern health systems as necessary. Each has its place.
-
The dieta is a sacred preparation that cleanses the body, mind, and spirit before ceremony. It is an act of respect toward the medicines, the land, and your own healing process.
We ask participants to avoid alcohol, meats, cannabis, prescriptions (when safely possible), and other substances for at least 7 days before and after the gathering.
Eat lightly, rest deeply, spend time in nature, and hold your intentions with clarity and gratitude.
This preparation allows the ceremony to unfold safely and with greater depth.
For more in depth go to our prepare for your journey page.
-
Yes. Certain medications and supplements may be contraindicated with ancestral plant medicines and must be carefully reviewed before participating.
This includes some antidepressants, psychiatric medications, stimulants, heart medications, and herbal supplements that affect serotonin or blood pressure. For safety, we require all participants to disclose medications during registration.
If you are currently taking prescription medication or have a medical condition, it is essential that you speak with us directly before attending.
We provide a detailed Health & Safety Guidelines page outlining common contraindications. In some cases, a gradual and supervised taper (under the guidance of your licensed physician) may be necessary well in advance of ceremony.
Your safety is our priority. When in doubt, ask.
-
We are happy to accommodate most dietary needs when informed in advance.
Our meals are prepared fresh on the land and are simple, nourishing, and aligned with ceremonial preparation. We primarily serve clean, wholesome foods that support the body before and after ceremony.
If you have dietary restrictions, allergies, or sensitivities — including vegetarian, gluten-free, dairy-free, or other needs — please let us know during registration so we can plan accordingly.
Because we live off-grid and cook intentionally for small groups, advance communication is essential.
If you have severe allergies or complex medical dietary requirements, we ask that you speak with us directly to ensure we can safely and realistically accommodate you.
Our intention is that everyone feels nourished, supported, and comfortable throughout their stay.

Yes — a 4x4 or high-clearance vehicle is strongly recommended for the final drive up to the finca.
The road to the mountain is a scenic dirt road similar to many rural mountain roads in Costa Rica. It is not paved and includes uneven terrain and a small, shallow river crossing. During the rainy season, road conditions can become more challenging, and arriving earlier in the day is advised due to afternoon rains.
Low-clearance vehicles are not recommended.
If you are renting a car, we suggest choosing a higher-clearance SUV or 4x4 vehicle to ensure a safe and comfortable ascent.
For those who prefer not to drive, we provide transportation from our meeting point in Tinamastes up to the finca.

-
The final journey to Finca de la Sol is part of the experience.
After gathering at our shop in Tinamastes, we ascend into the mountains along a scenic dirt road surrounded by jungle, valleys, and expansive views. The drive is similar to other rural mountain roads in Costa Rica — unpaved, natural, and alive with the landscape.
Along the way you can expect:
• winding mountain curves
• sections of uneven terrain
• a small, shallow river crossing
• breathtaking views of the hills and forest
During the rainy season, afternoon showers are common, so we recommend arriving earlier in the day when visibility is clearer.
The roads are safe for travel when driven attentively and with an appropriate vehicle. A 4x4 or high-clearance car is strongly recommended.
For many guests, this drive becomes a meaningful transition — a gradual shift from the pace of the outside world into the quiet rhythm of the mountain.
By the time you arrive, you are already beginning to slow down, breathe deeper, and enter the sacred space.
-
Finca de la Sol is a fully off-grid ancestral sanctuary in Costa Rica — no Wi-Fi, minimal electricity, and deep immersion in nature.
Days follow the rhythm of the sun and jungle.
Nights are filled with firelight, forest sounds, and stars.
It is a return to simplicity, presence, and gratitude.
-
Finca de la Sol is fully off-grid.
We do not have conventional electricity or Wi-Fi. Our life on the land follows the rhythm of the sun, the rain, and the natural cycles of day and night.
We use limited solar energy for essential lighting. At night, the maloca and kitchen areas are softly illuminated by solar lights, along with candlelight and firelight. Guests should not expect consistent charging access or internet connectivity.
Cell service may be available depending on your provider, though we encourage participants to treat their time here as an opportunity to unplug and reconnect — with nature, with community, and with themselves.
The absence of constant electricity is intentional. It creates space for rest, presence, and deeper connection.
-
Our accommodations are simple, comfortable, and aligned with the spirit of the land.
For immersive gatherings, guests typically stay in spacious tents set on natural ground. We provide air mattresses and basic bedding for international travelers. If you are local and camping, we encourage you to bring your own tent, airbed, and blankets.
We also have a small home and two casitas on the land, used according to availability and the needs of each gathering.
Sleeping here is a return to simplicity — surrounded by the sounds of the jungle, fresh mountain air, and the rhythm of nature. Nights are cool in the mountains, and many guests find the rest to be deep and restorative.
We recommend bringing any additional comfort items that help you feel at ease — such as extra blankets, a favorite pillow, or grounding mats if desired.
This is not luxury accommodation. It is intentional simplicity designed to support presence, humility, and connection with the Earth.
-
Each gathering includes the full ceremonial and integration container held on the land.
Depending on the specific immersion, your participation includes:
• The scheduled ancestral ceremonies
• Preparation talks and educational guidance
• Daily integration circles and personal reflection support
• Facilitator presence and care throughout the entire gathering
• Nourishing meals aligned with ceremonial preparation
• Lodging in our off-grid accommodations
• Transportation from our shop in Tinamastes up to the finca
In addition to ceremony, our gatherings often include spirit-guided experiences shaped by the needs of the group and the rhythm of the land. These may include:
• Guided jungle walks and nature immersions
• Sound healing and musical prayer
• Teachings on the feminine lunar cycle and womb wisdom
• Sacred fire circles
• Ancestral plant teachings
• Grounding and embodiment practices
No two gatherings are identical. We listen to the energy of the circle and allow the container to unfold with intention and care.
Our intention is that once you arrive, you are fully held — physically, emotionally, and spiritually — within a cohesive and supported experience.
Travel to Costa Rica, transportation from San José (SJO), and optional offerings such as temazcal may be separate depending on the specific gathering. These details are clearly outlined for each event.
Every contribution supports not only the ceremonies, but the continued planting, building, and sustainability of this sacred land.
-
Yes. To secure your place in a gathering, we require a non-refundable but transferable deposit.
Because our groups are intentionally small, each space is held with care. The deposit confirms your commitment and allows us to prepare the ceremonial container responsibly for the number of participants attending.
Deposits may be transferred to a future gathering if circumstances prevent you from attending, provided we are notified within a reasonable time frame. Deposits may not be transferred to another individual.
The remaining balance is due prior to arrival or upon arrival in cash, unless another payment method has been arranged in advance.
Our intention is not to create pressure, but to ensure clarity and mutual commitment. When a space is reserved, it is prepared specifically for you.
-
We understand that financial circumstances vary, and we are open to discussing payment plans when arranged in advance.
For certain longer immersions or extended programs, structured payment options may be available. These arrangements must be agreed upon prior to arrival and honored with integrity.
From time to time, partial scholarships or reduced contributions may be offered for individuals who demonstrate sincere commitment to the path and a genuine need. Because our work directly supports the land and the continuation of ancestral practice, scholarship spaces are limited.
If you feel called to join but are experiencing financial hardship, we invite you to reach out and share your situation openly.
Our intention is to maintain both accessibility and sustainability — honoring the value of the work while remaining compassionate where possible.
-
Yes — visits for rest, integration, and connection with nature are welcome by prior arrangement.
Many people come simply to walk the jungle trails, swim in the river, and rest in the peaceful energy of the land.
Please note: visits are available outside of ceremony weeks only, as the finca remains closed during private retreats and sacred gatherings.
A contribution for lodging and meals supports the care of the land and community.
-
Bring simple, comfortable clothing — preferably white or natural tones for ceremonies — along with:
• flashlight or headlamp
• towel
• refillable water bottle
• journal
• eco-friendly personal hygiene items
For nature activities, bring hiking boots or sturdy shoes and a swimsuit for river bathing or temazcal.
Camping guests in Costa Rica: please bring your tent, airbed, and blankets.
International travelers: we provide everything needed for your stay.
You may also bring a small offering for the land or fire (flowers, tobacco, or symbolic items).
